In one way or another, we all strive to make things a little simpler. In Joshua Krause’s case, it started with diet and a martial arts training regimen, and ended in a shift in attitude that eventually spawned, Simple Ways. In his lastest body of work, Krause has been inspired by his new approach on life, and by “getting out of his own way,” he has achieved a purity that he hasn’t been able to capture in his previous exhibitions. Drawing inspiration from disparate places and non traditional materials, these primal influences have gotten him in better touch with himself, which ultimately allowed him to focus his thoughts and find some order in this wild, wild world.
