The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego is looking for sites in the downtown San Diego area that can be used by artists – featured in the upcoming exhibition Viva la Revolución: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape – to create murals and other site-specific works on building walls. This is the public’s chance to experience the art of renowned, international artists as well as contribute to the enhancement of San Diego’s urban landscape.

Artists featured in the exhibition, which opens July 18 at MCASD Downtown, are Akay (Sweden), Banksy (U.K.), Blu (Italy), Mark Bradford (U.S.), William Cordova (U.S.), Date Farmers (U.S.), Stephan Doitschinoff [CALMA] (Brazil), Dr. Lakra (Mexico), Dzine (U.S.), David Ellis (U.S.), FAILE (U.S.), Shepard Fairey (U.S.), Invader (France), JR (France), Barry McGee (U.S.), Ryan McGinness (U.S.), Moris (Mexico), Os Gemeos (Brazil), Swoon (U.S.), and Vhils (Portugal). More details about submissions after the jump.

By submitting a site for consideration, individuals acknowledge that they are giving permission for these projects to take place on the structure specified. MCASD’s curatorial team will choose the final site selections from the submissions; submission does not guarantee selection. MCASD will contact site owners directly (please do not contact the Museum regarding the status of submissions).

All submissions must be sent to walls@mcasd.org, with the subject line “Viva Murals”.

What to submit:
- Image of the structure (i.e. wall, building, etc.)
- Location/address of the site
- Approximate dimensions (length, height, width)
- Name of building owner
- Contact information for owner (phone number and e-mail address)

Submissions must include all of the above information to be considered. For more information on Viva la Revolución: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape, please visit www.mcasd.org.
