Opening Night: You should’ve been here yesterday.
You should’ve been here yesterday.
A Surf-inspired Group Exhibition
March 16th – April 13th, 2012
View the Work
Friday night was jam packed and well received as we paddled into an epic show featuring an eclectic mix of surf-inspired artwork. When we set out to do this show, we wanted to make sure we had a solid showing of work with varying styles, and we we’re really happy with the way it turned out. A huge thanks goes out to all of you who came out, and all of our artists that made this night a memorable one. And an extra special thanks to Summer Brooke and her band who battled the elements to give us a really beautiful musical performance. More photos of opening night after the jump.
There’s a few things you can always count on in San Diego. A good street taco, mid-seventies temperatures and of course, surf. It seems like an obvious concept, but we’ve never had a show at Subtext that celebrates the constant tide that San Diego bestows on us. You should’ve been here yesterday is our first surf-inspired group exhibition that will feature new works from San Diego artists and photographers including Myles McGuinness, Kevin Roche, Susan Wickstrand, Paul Drohan, Phil Gibbs, John Antoski, Skye Walker, Emil Kozak, Tocayo, Chris Park , Dane Danner, John Durant, Josh Oldenburg, & William Sager.
