Homeroom: Opening Night
November 11th – December 11th, 2011
Extended Gallery Hours for this Show: Every Saturday, 12-3pm
View the Work
Last Friday night, Homeroom opened to a warm reception, and our gallery-goers we’re able to see a small part of our featured artists’ childhood. We got an incredible amount of press for this show, including mentions on Hi-Fructose, My Modern Met, Flavorpill, and Design Boom. If you didn’t get a chance to come to the opening, we’ll be open every saturday from 12-3pm, so please come by and see the show for yourself. There’s still a lot of great work available. More photos of opening night after the jump.
Fingerpaints, crayons, chalk and color pencils. We were all budding artists in childhood, and we had the freedom to create every mystical creature and dream we envisioned. The early years were full of drawings that were hung in the kitchen gallery, where everything we made was welcome and immediately sold into the hearts of our loved ones. Guest curated by Christina Conway, Homeroom attempts to rediscover the nostalgia of youth and innocent creativity. Each artist for this exhibition found a piece from their childhood and reinterpreted it in their current style. Join us this November, and see the results.
