Diabolus Mundus: Recap
Sept. 5th – Oct. 5th, 2008 Opening Reception: Friday, September 5th, 6-10pm
Our Diabolus Mundus (Devil World) show by Aaron Thomas was a huge success, so thanks to everyone who came out in droves to show their support! As we’ve mentioned before, the paintings Aaron did for this show were stellar, and judging by the crowds’ reaction they fully agreed. But don’t fret, if you didn’t make it out to the text, the show runs through October 5th. And if you want to take home one of these mischievous devils, there’s still some left so check it out!
About the Show: Do you ever wonder what causes life’s trivial annoyances, like lost remotes, runs in nylons, or misplaced car keys? Aaron Thomas blames it on the devil. Many little devils in fact. Mischievous grin’s and beady little eye’s are a prominent feature in Aaron’s new show entitled Diabolus Mundus, meaning Devil World. Now a footwear designer at DC Shoes, Aaron graduated from the illustration program at Artcenter College of Design in Pasadena. During that time he created a devil character for Rob Clayton’s media experimentation class, the result of which has spawned into his latest body of work. Thomas’ paintings are character-driven, meticulously executed, and a great example of pop surrealism at it’s finest. Don’t miss this one!
