Cognitive Dissonance
May 3rd - June 9th, 2013
Kelly McKernan is a fine artist and illustrator from Atlanta, Georgia, currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Kelly obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kennesaw State University, with a concentration in drawing and painting. Kelly’s current body of work examines the personal growth that results from internal struggle. Her ethereal women are often battling the opposing forces of natural inclination and cognitive reasoning, or they may be seen in their moment of resolution, finally understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and desires. Kelly has been exhibiting her work with galleries around the country since 2009, and has illustrated three children’s books. Cognitive Dissonance will mark her first solo show with Subtext Gallery
